Aimee Buckner Haisten

Aimee Buckner Haisten is an educator, literacy consultant, and author with more than three decades of experience in education, including work as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, literacy specialist, and international consultant. She has taught grades 3–6 and now works full-time with teachers in grades 2–8, focusing on research-based reading and writing instruction and sentence-level work that connects syntax and semantics to comprehension and written expression.

She is the author of several professional books on literacy, including Notebook Know-How: Strategies for the Writer’s Notebook, Notebook Connections: Strategies for the Reader’s Notebook, and Nonfiction Notebooks: Strategies for Informational Writing, all published by Stenhouse. Her forthcoming book, Sentence Digs: Teaching the Reading and Writing Connection Through Syntax and Semantics, extends this work on sentence-level instruction and is scheduled for release in late 2025.
