Author
Jeff Anderson
Jeff Anderson is an acclaimed author, educator, and literacy advocate who has spent over three decades inspiring writers and teachers across the country with his innovative approach to grammar and writing instruction.
A former elementary and middle school teacher, Jeff discovered early in his career that traditional grammar drills weren't reaching his students—so he did something revolutionary: he made grammar fun. By merging grammar with writer's craft instruction, Jeff sparked a quiet revolution in classrooms everywhere.

Jeff has authored ten professional books for educators, including:
- Mechanically Inclined — His groundbreaking approach to teaching grammar through mentor texts

- Patterns of Power series (with Whitney La Rocca and others) — The invitational process for teaching conventions across grades PreK–12
Middle-Grade Novels
When he's not revolutionizing grammar instruction, Jeff writes humorous fiction for young readers. His Zack Delacruz series includes:
- Me and My Big Mouth
- Just My Luck
- Upstaged
Personal
Jeff grew up in Austin, Texas, where he discovered his love of writing through journaling and crafting stories to entertain friends over the phone. He now lives in San Antonio with his partner Terry and his dogs, Carl and Paisley.
When he's not traveling the country working with teachers and students, you can find Jeff walking his dogs, meditating, or feeding his latest addiction: nonfiction books.
