Dr. Alan C. Jones is an educational consultant specializing in curriculum, instruction, and instructional leadership. According to publisher and book listings, he has taught English at DuSable Upper Grade Center in Chicago, social studies at Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois, and school administration at Saint Xavier University in Chicago; he also served as activities director, assistant principal at Bremen Township High School, and principal of Community High School District 94 in West Chicago for 17 years.
His leadership at Community High School helped earn the school recognition as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1993 and as a School of Excellence by Hispanic magazine in 1995. His published work includes Standout School Leaders: Challenging What It Means to Lead as well as Students! Do Not Push Your Teacher Down the Stairs on Friday: A Teacher’s Notebook (1972), Becoming a Strong Instructional Leader (2012), Teaching Matters Most (2012), The First 100 Days in the Main Office (2018), and Living Up to Your School Mission Statement (2021).
