Allen N. Mendler
Allen N. Mendler, PhD, is an educator, school psychologist, and author who has worked extensively with children in regular and special education settings. He earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and education from Queens College, a master’s degree in psychology from Alfred University, and a doctorate in school psychology from Union Graduate School.
Mendler has coauthored Discipline with Dignity: How to Build Responsibility, Relationships, and Respect in Your Classroom with Richard L. Curwin and Brian D. Mendler, and has also written books including Motivating Students Who Don’t Care, Connecting with Students, Power Struggles: Successful Techniques for Educators, and Handling Difficult Parents. He has also been described as a frequent workshop presenter and blogger on classroom management and student motivation.
