Dr. Almitra L. Berry is a nationally recognized speaker, author, and consultant specializing in the education of culturally and linguistically diverse learners in America’s K–12 school systems. She is the CEO, founder, and principal consultant of ALBerry Consulting, Inc., a boutique educational consulting firm focused on equity and academic achievement in majority-of-color, low-wealth, large urban school districts. Over more than three decades in public education and educational publishing, she has worked with leaders and systems across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean on equity, leadership, curriculum reform, and meeting the needs of historically underserved and marginalized learners.
Berry holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Davis, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. She is the author of The Culturally Competent Educator: Connecting Equitable Practices for Instruction, Assessment, and Grading, as well as Effecting Change for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners (2nd edition) and Equitable Classroom Practices for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners.
