Ame Dyckman

Ame Dyckman is a New York Times bestselling, award-winning author of humorous and heartwarming picture books for children, best known for titles such as Boy + Bot and Dandy. Her debut picture book Boy + Bot, illustrated by Dan Yaccarino, was published in 2012 and praised for its imaginative, sweet-natured portrayal of friendship. She went on to write Tea Party Rules, which received the Ezra Jack Keats New Writer Award, and has authored numerous other popular picture books including Wolfie the Bunny, Horrible Bear!, You Don’t Want a Unicorn!, You Don’t Want a Dragon!, Read the Book, Lemmings!, Misunderstood Shark, the Wee Beasties board book series, That’s Life!, The New Kid Has Fleas, Tiny Barbarian, How Dinosaurs Went Extinct: A Safety Guide, Don’t Blow Your Top!, and several newer titles such as Campingland and Silly Boobies: A Love Story.

Dyckman lives in New Jersey (specifically described in some sources as central New Jersey) with her family and pets, and often cites the wild critters in her yard as inspiration for her stories.[1
