Amy Jo Burns

Amy Jo Burns is an American novelist and memoirist from western Pennsylvania. She is the author of the memoir Cinderland, which explores her coming-of-age in a small Pennsylvania industrial town and the consequences of keeping silent about abuse by a beloved piano teacher.

Burns is also the author of the novels Shiner and Mercury. Her writing has appeared in The Paris Review and Elle, and she has taught at the Arts Council of Princeton.
