Amy M. Briesch

Amy M. Briesch, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology at Northeastern University, where she is affiliated with the School Psychology program. Her primary research interests include the role of student involvement in intervention design and implementation and the development of feasible, psychometrically sound measures for assessing student behavior within multi-tiered systems of support. She has received the Lightner Witmer Award for early-career scholarship in school psychology from Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association and serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of School Psychology, as well as an elected member of the Society for the Study of School Psychology.

Dr. Briesch has authored or coauthored over 50 publications, including the books Evidence-Based Strategies for Effective Classroom Management (with David M. Hulac), Direct Behavior Rating: Linking Assessment, Communication, and Intervention, and School-Based Observation: A Practical Guide to Assessing Student Behavior. Her work focuses on social, emotional, and behavioral assessment, self-management interventions to reduce problem behaviors in classrooms, and the use of data to inform school-based prevention and intervention efforts.
