Amy Rasmussen
Amy Rasmussen is a literacy evangelist, presenter, writer, and education blogger who specializes in helping secondary English language arts teachers use authentic literacy practices to develop students as readers, writers, and communicators. She has spent much of her career serving marginalized students in North Texas through high school English teaching, curriculum writing, instructional coaching, and leading teacher teams.
Rasmussen earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature and a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of North Texas, and she is a teacher advisor for the National Writing Project. She has also served on NCTE committees, published in English Journal, and coauthored Authentic Literacy Instruction: Empowering Secondary Students to Become Lifelong Readers, Writers, and Communicators with Billy Eastman.
