Anisa Baker-Busby

Dr. Anisa Baker-Busby, EdD, is an elementary school principal in middle Georgia and a longtime educator specializing in collaborative, high-performing teacher teams. She has over twenty years of experience in high-poverty schools as an elementary teacher and administrator and was recognized as the 2008–2009 Teacher of the Year for Miller Elementary School. Baker-Busby earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education from Alabama State University, completed K–12 educational leadership certification at Albany State University, and holds both a specialist degree and a doctoral degree in K–12 educational leadership from Argosy University.

Baker-Busby is coauthor of Handbook for Highly Effective Teams in a PLC at Work®: Essential Actions for Tackling Critical Issues, written with William M. Ferriter, Bob Sonju, and Kim Monkres, which provides practical protocols and tools for building effective professional learning community (PLC) teams. She is also coauthor, with Nicole Dimich, of The Handbook for Design in Five: Assessment Tools and Protocols for Teachers and Teams, focusing on assessment design that supports teacher clarity and student confidence. Her work and speaking emphasize building systems of support for collaborative teams to ensure high levels of learning for all students.
