Dr. Ann D. David is an associate professor of teacher education at the University of the Incarnate Word, where she prepares future middle- and high-school teachers and serves as co-director of the San Antonio Writing Project. Her scholarship focuses on the teaching of writing and the impacts of censorship on English language arts teachers, and she has served as chair of the National Council of Teachers of English Standing Committee Against Censorship.
David previously taught high school English and theatre in public and private schools in the Midwest. Her published works include The Impacts of Censorship, Volume 1: Research on the Intersection of Censorship and Teaching English and When Teaching Writing Gets Tough: Challenges and Possibilities in Secondary Writing Instruction.
