Ann M. Miller

Ann M. Miller is a science educator and coauthor of professional resources focused on engaging students in STEM learning. She co-wrote Captivate, Activate, and Invigorate the Student Brain in Science and Math, Grades 6–12 with John Almarode, a book that blends current research on how the student brain learns with practical strategies for increasing behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement in secondary science and math classrooms. She is also the coauthor, again with John Almarode, of From Snorkelers to Scuba Divers in the Elementary Science Classroom: Strategies and Lessons That Move Students Toward Deeper Learning, which presents classroom-ready approaches for moving elementary students from surface-level understanding to deeper, more sustained learning in science.

According to reporting from James Madison University, Miller has worked with Waynesboro Public Schools in Virginia, contributing her classroom and district-level experience to the development of brain-based, research-informed strategies for science and math instruction.
