Ann Napolitano
Ann Napolitano (born October 21, 1971) is an American novelist and New York Times bestselling author whose work focuses on family, resilience, and human connection. She is the author of four novels: Within Arm’s Reach (her debut), A Good Hard Look, Dear Edward, and Hello Beautiful, with Hello Beautiful becoming a #1 New York Times bestseller and the 100th selection of Oprah’s Book Club. Dear Edward was also a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into an Apple TV+ series.
Napolitano holds a BA from Connecticut College and an MFA in creative writing from New York University, and she has taught fiction writing at institutions including Brooklyn College, New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and Gotham Writers Workshop. She served as associate editor of the literary magazine One Story from 2014 to 2020 and lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband, director and writer Dan Wilde, and their two sons.
