Anne Paonessa
Dr. Anne Paonessa is an educator, consultant, and co-author of Essential Connection Skills, K-6: Strategies for Integrating Social Connections Into Core Content (Corwin, 2025) with Jeff Zwiers. She is the founder and lead consultant of ConnectED Classrooms and has over 20 years of experience in public education, including roles as a classroom teacher, bilingual/ESL educator, principal, district leader, director of multilingual services, and assistant superintendent.
Paonessa holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Chicago, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is also listed as an adjunct professor at National Louis University.
