Antarina S F Amir

Antarina S. F. Amir is an Indonesian education leader and founder and president of HighScope Indonesia Institute, where she has developed a comprehensive K–12 education model grounded in active, constructivist learning. She established the HighScope Early Childhood Education Program in Jakarta in 1996, later expanding it into a full K–12 institution after extensive study, consultation with education experts, and school visits in the United States and other countries. Amir holds degrees in economics and accounting from the University of Indonesia and completed MBA and MSc studies in marketing and management information systems at the University of Pittsburgh, and she has taught as an instructor at the University of Indonesia.

Amir is coauthor, with Thomas R. Guskey, of Life Skills for All Learners: How to Teach, Assess, and Report Education’s New Essentials (ASCD, 2024), which presents a classroom-tested framework for teaching, assessing, and reporting eight essential life skills, including meta-level reflection, expert thinking, creativity and innovation, adaptability and agility, audience-centered communication, synergistic collaboration, empathetic social skills, and ethical leadership.
