Anthony R. Reibel

Anthony R. Reibel is an educator and researcher specializing in student agency, self-efficacy, assessment, and evidence-based grading. He serves as Director of Research, Evaluation and Assessment at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where his work focuses on agency-focused pedagogy, personal efficacy, evidence-based grading, proficiency-focused assessment, and relational pedagogy. He earned an Ed.D. in Educational Evaluation and Research from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, completing a dissertation titled Cognitive bias in the rubric evaluation of student performance in standards-based grading models.

Reibel is the author or coauthor of multiple works on assessment and instruction, including Small Changes, Big Impact: Ten Strategies to Promote Student Efficacy and Lifelong Learning, which presents ten research-based strategies to promote student self-efficacy, agency, and long-term learning.
