Ariel Aberg-Riger is a visual storyteller and self-taught artist whose work has appeared in publications including The Guardian, Teen Vogue, CityLab, and The Atlantic’s CityLab. According to her website and publisher materials, she focuses on visual storytelling about history, science, policy, equity, and social justice, and she lives in Los Angeles with her wife and kids or, in other bios, in Buffalo, New York.
Her debut book is America Redux: Visual Stories from Our Dynamic History (2023), which she wrote and illustrated. The book won the 2023 Kirkus Prize for Young Reader’s Literature and was named a 2024 finalist for the YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction award.
