Audrey Blakely-Smith Ph.D.

Audrey Blakeley-Smith, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, based at the Anschutz Medical Campus. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 2005 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Her clinical and research work focuses on developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder and the co-occurrence of anxiety and other mental health conditions in individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Blakeley-Smith is a co-developer and co-author of the cognitive-behavioral intervention program “Facing Your Fears” and “Facing Your Fears in Schools,” which are designed to help autistic youth manage anxiety. She has served as principal investigator on randomized clinical trials adapting Facing Your Fears for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and has contributed to multiple research publications on school-based cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety in students with autism. In addition to her clinical and research roles, she is the training director of an APA-accredited psychology internship at the University of Colorado, where she supervises and trains graduate clinicians working with autistic and other neurodivergent populations.
