Barbara Fisinger

Barbara Fisinger is a Slovenian-born illustrator, character designer, and visual development artist, best known for illustrating the Wedgie & Gizmo middle-grade series written by Suzanne Selfors. She was born in 1980 in Slovenia and studied art education in Ljubljana before completing further studies in animation in Luxembourg. Since 2007, she has lived and worked in Trier, Germany, where she focuses on illustrating children’s books and contributing to animated projects.

Her published work includes interior and cover art for the Wedgie & Gizmo series—Wedgie & Gizmo, Wedgie & Gizmo vs. the Toof, and Wedgie & Gizmo vs. the Great Outdoors—noted for lively, humorous illustrations that complement the comedic, pet-centered narratives. Fisinger has also illustrated other children’s titles, including German-language books such as Pudding Pauli deckt auf: Pudding Paulis zweiter Fall, where her artwork accompanies Christine Nöstlinger’s text.
