Beate M. Planche

Beate M. Planche is a Canadian educational practitioner, consultant, and researcher, and the co-author of Leading Collaborative Learning: Empowering Excellence with Lyn Sharratt. She has extensive experience in K–12 education, having served as Superintendent of Curriculum and Instructional Services and as a supervising superintendent, principal, vice principal, and co-director of a private school in the York Region District School Board in Ontario.

Planche teaches in graduate education and educational leadership programs at Western University (also referred to as the University of Western Ontario), where she has worked as a sessional instructor and Assistant Professor (Limited Duties) in the online doctoral program in educational leadership. Her work focuses on literacy programming, collaborative inquiry, inquiry-based learning, and professional learning, and she has authored more than 20 published articles and peer-reviewed papers on topics such as teacher leadership, formative assessment, and collaboration in school improvement.
