Ben Springer
Ben Springer is an award-winning, nationally certified school psychologist and expert educator whose work focuses on student behavior, mental health, and special education. He has served in schools as an autism specialist, school psychologist, behavior specialist, Director of Special Education, and Director of Student Wellness, and he founded Totem PD, a professional development company that creates training for educators and mental health practitioners on managing aggressive behavior and supporting child, parent, and teacher wellness. He has also served as executive director of a Family Education Center and is a frequent keynote speaker and trainer on behavior management and de-escalation in schools.
Springer is the author of Happy Kids Don’t Punch You in the Face: A Guide to Eliminating Aggressive Behavior in School (2018) and GPS: Good Parenting Strategies: The No-Guilt Survival Guide for Parenting During the Pandemic and Beyond (2021), which apply principles of positive psychology and practical behavior-support tools for educators and families. He is also coauthor of Optimistic Teaming: Coordination Strategies for Tough Student Situations, a guide for school teams working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors.
