Bena Kallick
Bena Kallick, PhD, is an education consultant and author known for her work on the Habits of Mind, personalized learning, and the development of thinking-centered school cultures. She is co-director of the Institute for Habits of Mind and serves as program director for Eduplanet21, an organization focused on online professional learning and curriculum development grounded in the Understanding by Design framework. Kallick earned her doctorate in educational evaluation from Union Graduate School and has consulted with school districts, state education departments, professional organizations, and public agencies in the United States and internationally.
Kallick has taught at the Yale University School of Organization and Management, the University of Massachusetts Center for Creative and Critical Thinking, and Union Graduate School. She has coauthored numerous works on thinking dispositions and assessment, and is coauthor of Learning and Leading with Habits of Mind: 16 Essential Characteristics for Success and Students at the Center: Personalized Learning with Habits of Mind, as well as author of Cultivating Habits of Mind (Quick Reference Guide) and coauthor of Nurturing Habits of Mind in Early Childhood: Success Stories from Classrooms Around the World.
