Bernie Trilling
Bernie Trilling is an education and learning innovator, author, and founder and CEO of 21st Century Learning Advisors, where he focuses on advancing 21st‑century learning practices. He is the former global director of the Oracle Education Foundation, where he directed education strategies, partnerships, and services for the Foundation’s ThinkQuest program and represented the Foundation as a board member of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21). Prior to Oracle, Trilling served as director of the Technology in Education group at WestEd, a U.S. national educational laboratory, and has held roles in both education and industry, including executive producer for instruction at Hewlett‑Packard Company, helping to lead a global interactive distance‑learning network.
Trilling is co‑author of 21st Century Skills: Learning for Life in Our Times (with Charles Fadel), a widely cited work on modern competencies needed for success in education, work, and life. He has also co‑authored Four‑Dimensional Education: The Competencies Learners Need to Succeed and written chapters for collections such as Deeper Learning: Beyond 21st Century Skills, contributing to frameworks like P21’s “rainbow” learning model for 21st‑century skills.
