Bertha Vazquez
Bertha Vazquez is an American educator and retired middle school science teacher who taught in Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 34 years. She is the education director at the Center for Inquiry and has led teacher professional-development work focused on science, evolution, and climate education.
Vazquez earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in science education from Florida International University. Her published works include On Teaching Evolution (2021), and she is a co-author of What Teachers Want to Know About Teaching Climate Change: An Educator’s Guide to Nurturing Hope and Resilience (Grades K–12).
