Beth Baker
Beth Baker, M.S.Ed., is an independent behavioral consultant, PBIS coach, and educator specializing in positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and students with emotional behavioral disabilities (EBD). She is the coauthor of The PBIS Team Handbook: Setting Expectations and Building Positive Behavior (and its revised and updated edition), a practical guide for school teams implementing Tier 1 PBIS and building positive schoolwide behavior systems.
Over more than twenty years in education, Baker has taught in self-contained special education classrooms, implemented and coached PBIS teams, and worked as a behavior specialist. She has also served as an intervention specialist at Minneapolis Public Schools, where she supported elementary teams in creating positive behavioral environments, and as a lead PBIS coach for a Minneapolis-area school district. In addition, she has worked as a district program facilitator providing professional development in social-emotional learning and coaching staff who support students with emotional-behavioral needs.
