Bill Adair is a teacher and educational author with extensive classroom experience in the Coquitlam school district near Vancouver, British Columbia, where he has taught for approximately 28 years. He earned his undergraduate degree and teaching certificate from Simon Fraser University and later completed a master’s degree at San Diego State University. Adair developed the Emotionally Connected Classroom teaching model in response to increasing student anxiety, low resiliency, and motivational challenges, emphasizing emotional reward and linking wellness intentions to daily curricular objectives.
Adair is the author of The Emotionally Connected Classroom: Wellness and the Learning Experience (Corwin, 2019), an educator-focused text that integrates neuroscience, wellness, curriculum, and attachment and offers strategies, case studies, and lesson templates to help teachers build healthy developmental attachments and repair emotional dysregulation in the classroom. His work has been adopted as a required text in professional development courses on emotional security in schools and is used as an anchor resource for social and emotional learning and student behavior support.
