Bob Sonju
Bob Sonju is an award-winning educational leader, author, educational consultant, and nationally recognized speaker specializing in professional learning communities (PLCs), effective teams, and school improvement. He serves as executive director of learning and development for Washington County School District in Utah and has previously worked as a district leader, high school administrator, special education teacher, and principal of Fossil Ridge Intermediate School, a U.S.-recognized school that achieved national Model PLC at Work® status and the National Breakthrough School Award from the National Association of Secondary School Principals. He has also been a former adjunct professor of education at Dixie State University (now Utah Tech University).
Sonju is coauthor of Handbook for Highly Effective Teams in a PLC at Work®: Essential Actions for Tackling Critical Issues with William M. Ferriter, Anisa Baker-Busby, and Kim Monkres, a guide to building highly effective teacher teams. He also coauthored Simplifying the Journey: Six Steps to Schoolwide Collaboration, Consistency, and Clarity in a PLC at Work® with Maren Powers and Sheline Miller, and contributed to Help Your Team: Overcoming Common Collaborative Challenges in a PLC at Work®, a practical resource for supporting teacher team collaboration.
