Bruce Novak
Bruce Novak is the Director of Educational Projects for the Foundation for Ethics and Meaning. He has taught English in grades 6–12 in Chicago-area schools, helped supervise English teacher education at the University of Chicago, and has also taught foundations of education, humanities, social sciences, writing, psychoanalysis and education, and philosophy of education at the University of Chicago, Northern Illinois University, DePaul University, Truman College, and the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis.
Novak is the coauthor, with Jeffrey D. Wilhelm, of _Teaching Literacy for Love and Wisdom: Being the Book and Being the Change_ (Teachers College Press, 2011). His published work cited online also includes “Humanizing Democracy,” which was the lead article in the Fall 2002 issue of the American Educational Research Journal.
