Carol Ghiglieri

Carol Ghiglieri is a Brooklyn-based writer and editor whose work includes educational materials for children and young readers. She is the coauthor of several Scholastic Teaching Resources titles, including 100 Task Cards in a Box: Making Inferences, 100 Task Cards in a Box: Context Clues, and 100 Task Cards in a Box: Figurative Language, which provide mini‑passages and key questions to build reading comprehension skills. She has also written for the Easy Reader Biographies series, including titles such as Helen Keller: An Inspiring Life, and other nonfiction readers for children published by Scholastic.

Ghiglieri holds an MA from Boston University’s Creative Writing Program and an MFA from the Warren Wilson Program for Writers. Her short fiction has appeared in literary journals including The Missouri Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, Crazyhorse, Potomac Review, and The Pinch, and she has received honors such as the Writer’s Voice New Voice Fiction Award and Descant’s Gary Wilson Short Fiction Award. She has taught creative writing at Hofstra University and has extensive experience as a freelance writer and editor focusing on educational and literary projects.
