Catherine Gehman
Catherine Gehman, MEd, is an educator with more than 25 years of classroom teaching experience, working with primary, intermediate, and middle grade students in New York, Iowa, and Pennsylvania, including English learners and students with disabilities. She is a National Writing Project fellow and integrates its focus on writer identity, reflection, and authentic voice into her 4th grade English language arts classroom.
Gehman is a coauthor of Now That I Think About It: Teaching Your Students to Be Reflective and Effective Learners, which offers research-informed, practical strategies to embed reflective practice into everyday instruction across grade levels and subject areas. In addition to her classroom work, she leads professional development in her district and presents locally, at state, and at national levels, sharing ready-to-use approaches that help students understand their thinking, reflect with intention, and grow as learners.
