Cathy Collins, Ed.D., is a library media specialist at Sharon Public Schools in Sharon, Massachusetts, with more than 20 years of experience in K–12 education across public, private, and international schools. A longtime advocate for digital and news literacy, she has served on the ISTE+ASCD Board and contributed her expertise to the News Literacy Project.
Collins is the author of Teaching News Literacy in the Age of AI: A Cross-Curricular Approach, an ISTE+ASCD professional learning book that provides practical strategies, tools, and lesson ideas to help educators teach verification skills and integrate news and AI literacy across subject areas. Her writing on media and digital literacy has appeared in outlets including Education Week, Library Media Connection, NEA Today, and Knowledge Quest, and she curates the Substack newsletter Smarter News Literacy in an AI World to share ongoing resources for educators.
