Cathy Hapka

Cathy Hapka (also published as Catherine Hapka, C.A. Hapka, Sandy Beech, and P.J. Denton) is a prolific children’s and young adult author who has written well over one hundred books across formats ranging from board books to middle-grade and teen fiction. Her work includes numerous tie-in titles for major franchises such as Disney, LEGO, Bionicle, Sofia the First, and others, as well as original series in genres from realistic contemporary to fantasy and adventure. She is the author of the action-packed middle-grade novel Junior Ninja Champion: The Fastest Finish, the second book in the Junior Ninja Champion series.

Hapka lives in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where she keeps horses and other animals on a small farm. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked in children’s publishing in New York City after studying English and communications at university. Alongside series such as Bionicle Chronicles, Pony Scouts, Ponies of Chincoteague, Pet Rescue Club, Astronaut Girl, and the Junior Ninja Champion books, she has contributed extensively to licensed properties and character-based stories for young readers.
