Cathy J. Lassiter, Ed.D., is an education consultant, author, and nationally recognized educator with more than 35 years of experience in public education as a teacher, principal, central office administrator, and consultant. She has served as a middle and high school social studies teacher, an award‑winning middle school principal, and a central office leader in a large urban Virginia district, and has also taught graduate courses in educational leadership as an adjunct professor at The George Washington University. Her areas of expertise include school and district leadership, Visible Learning, teacher clarity, school culture, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and closing achievement gaps.
Lassiter is the author of several works on educational leadership, including Everyday Courage for School Leaders, How Leadership Works: A Playbook for Instructional Leaders, Leader Credibility, and How Teams Work, and is a co‑author of Consequential Leadership: An Illustrated Guide on Leading for Impact. She works with school systems of varying sizes to support leadership development, collaboration, evaluation, and school improvement, and is a certified consultant in multiple Visible Learning and teacher clarity frameworks.
