Cecil R. Reynolds

Cecil R. Reynolds, PhD, ABN, ABPdN, is an American psychologist and Emeritus Professor of Educational Psychology, Professor of Neuroscience, and Distinguished Research Scholar at Texas A&M University, known for his contributions to psychological testing and assessment. He earned his PhD in educational psychology from the University of Georgia in 1978, following prior graduate training in psychometrics and school psychology, and previously held a faculty position at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he was associated with the Buros Institute of Mental Measurement.

Reynolds is the author of more than 300 scholarly publications and the author or editor of over 50 books and more than 50 commercially published tests, including the widely used Behavior Assessment System for Children (BASC), the Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales, and the Test of Memory and Learning. His work encompasses school psychology, clinical neuropsychology, and educational and behavioral assessment, and he serves as editor of the Journal of Pediatric Neuropsychology. Reynolds is a co‑editor of Culturally Informed Approaches to Behavioral and Educational Assessment, reflecting his longstanding focus on equitable and empirically grounded assessment practices for children and adolescents.
