Chris Choi

Chris Choi is a Korean American illustrator, author, and graphic novelist whose work includes collaborating with Stuart Gibbs on the highly illustrated chapter books Once Upon a Tim and The Labyrinth of Doom, part of the Once Upon a Tim series for young readers. He has also created cover art and interior illustrations for other children’s and middle-grade projects, and works across comics, graphic novels, and book illustration.

Choi previously worked under the pseudonym “Chris Danger” as an illustrator. An army brat who “lived everywhere” but grew up mostly in Hawai‘i, he studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, worked in animation and academia, and has been a full-time freelance illustrator for nearly a decade. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife Eva, their dog, and two cats, and is active on social media under the handle @Choi_Meets_World.
