Chris Munro
Chris Munro is an education coach and leader who serves as Chief Operating Officer for the Australasian operations of Instructional Coaching Group and Growth Coaching International, organizations that have merged their work in professional learning and instructional coaching. He has over 25 years of experience supporting and leading the development of teachers and school leaders in government and independent schools and in higher education, and he has led teacher professional learning strategies and school coaching models across Australia and beyond. Originally from Scotland, he began his teaching career and advisory work there before relocating to Australia in 2010.
Munro is an accredited Senior Practitioner with EMCC Global, holds a master’s degree in social and educational research from the University of Aberdeen, and is a fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (Victoria). He is the co-author of Growth Talk: A Coaching Way of Leading in Schools (ASCD/One Fine Bird Press, 2025), a practical guide for school leaders on using everyday conversations as opportunities for professional growth, written with John Campbell. In addition to his book, he has authored resources on coaching in education, including work on the GROWTH coaching model and instructional coaching programs such as The Impact Cycle in collaboration with Jim Knight.
