Chrisie Moritz

Chrisie Moritz is a National Board Certified literacy coach and educational consultant based in Virginia, specializing in elementary literacy instruction and guided reading. She has taught at the elementary level, served as a Reading Recovery teacher, a Literacy Collaborative District Trainer, and an adjunct faculty member at East Carolina University and George Mason University, and she leads literacy professional development for reading specialists, principals, school teams, and classroom teachers.

Moritz is a co-author of Powerful Book Introductions: Leading with Meaning for Deeper Thinking, a professional resource on planning and delivering student-centered book introductions in guided reading. In addition to her work in schools, she presents at literacy conferences and consults with school districts across the country on topics related to reading comprehension and effective literacy instruction.
