Christine Hertz

Christine Hertz Hausman is an educator, author, and consultant focused on helping teachers create child‑centered classrooms where students experience belonging, capability, and joy. She has a background in early childhood education and literacy and has taught in a wide range of settings from preschool through fourth grade, as well as serving as an adjunct instructor of education courses. She currently teaches in Worcester, Vermont and provides professional development for educators around the country.

Hertz Hausman is the co‑author, with Kristi Mraz, of Kids First from Day One: A Teacher’s Guide to Today’s Classroom and A Mindset for Learning: Teaching the Traits of Joyful, Independent Growth, both published by Heinemann. Her work emphasizes play, creativity, curiosity, and wonder as central to children’s lives and learning, and she writes about topics such as play‑based, inquiry, and project‑based learning, early literacy, and habits of mind that support joyful, independent growth.
