Claire Harvey is Head of Education at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, where she oversees courses for education professionals, including Level 5 specialist teacher and Level 7 specialist assessor qualifications, as well as courses for parents and learners. She is a specialist teacher and assessor and has worked at Helen Arkell for several years, delivering in‑service presentations and talks to schools and organisations on supporting neurodivergent learners, particularly those with dyslexia.
Harvey is the author of A Little Guide for Teachers: Supporting Dyslexic Learners in the Classroom, a practical resource that offers strategies, tools, and insights to help dyslexic and other neurodiverse learners thrive in school settings. Her professional focus is on improving classroom practice for learners with specific learning difficulties (SpLD), informed both by her specialist teaching work and by her experience supporting her own dyslexic son’s educational journey.
