Colby Sharp

Colby Sharp is a fifth-grade teacher in Parma, Michigan, and a widely recognized literacy advocate focused on expanding young readers’ access to books. He is the co-founder of Nerdy Book Club and Nerd Camp (Nerd Camp Michigan), and co-hosts The Yarn podcast with Travis Jonker, as well as the Twitter chats #SharpSchu and #TitleTalk with fellow educators and librarians.

Sharp is the co-author, with Donalyn Miller, of Game Changer! Book Access for All Kids, which examines how increasing children’s access to books can transform their reading lives, and of The Commonsense Guide to Your Classroom Library: Building a Collection That Inspires, Engages, and Challenges Readers, which follows the evolution of his own classroom library to offer practical guidance for teachers. He is also the editor of The Creativity Project: An Awesometastic Story Collection, a collaborative anthology for young readers.
