Colleen Madden

Colleen Madden is a children’s book illustrator and author best known for illustrating the bestselling picture books What If Everybody Did That? and What If Everybody Said That?, both written by Ellen Javernick. She has illustrated numerous other children’s titles, including the picture-book adaptation of All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey and The 12 Days of First Grade by Jenna Lettice. Madden made her debut as both author and illustrator with the picture book Monkey Walk, and her subsequent author-illustrator works include the graphic novel series Shelley Frankenstein and the picture books A Christmas Too Big and The Kiddie Table.

Madden lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband and two sons. Her mixed-media illustrations have been noted for their colorful, detailed style and expressive characters, qualities that contribute to the appeal of books like What If Everybody Did That?.
