Cornelius Minor

Cornelius Minor is a Brooklyn-based educator, author, and equitable literacy reform advocate whose work centers on creating student-centered, empowering school spaces. He is the author of We Got This.: Equity, Access, and the Quest to Be Who Our Students Need Us to Be, a book that examines how everyday instructional decisions and the act of truly listening to children can drive equity and broaden access to learning for all students. A former middle school English/Language Arts teacher in the Bronx and Brooklyn, Minor now works with teachers, school leaders, and community-based organizations across the United States and internationally to support deep, sustainable literacy reform.

Minor is a co-founder of The Minor Collective, a movement he leads with his partner Kass Minor to reimagine schools and foster sustainable, student-centered change. He is a frequent keynote speaker and staff developer, including work with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, where he supports educators in developing equitable literacy practices. Across his consulting and classroom work, Minor is known for integrating technology, hip-hop, and social media to increase student engagement and build communities of practice among educators.
