Cynthia M. Okolo
Cynthia M. Okolo, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on technology and literacy for students with mild disabilities, universal design for learning, and history instruction for students with learning challenges.
She is a former special education teacher, and her scholarship centers on applied issues in inclusive classrooms. Okolo has also played leadership roles in state, regional, and national organizations, directed undergraduate through doctoral programs, and has been a frequent author and editor in the scholarly literature. She co-edited Handbook of Learning Disabilities with Nicole Patton Terry and Laurie E. Cutting.
