Dan Nott

Dan Nott is a Vermont-based cartoonist, illustrator, and educator. He is the author and illustrator of the nonfiction graphic novel Hidden Systems: Water, Electricity, the Internet, and the Secrets Behind the Systems We Use Every Day, published by Random House Graphic in 2023. The book was longlisted for the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature and won the 2023 Vermont Book Award in Children’s Literature.

Nott earned an MFA from the Center for Cartoon Studies, where he also teaches comics-related courses. His short comics and illustrations have appeared in publications including The Nib, Spotlight PA, WBUR, and NJ Advance Media, and he has also worked on This Is What Democracy Looks Like, a free nationally distributed comic on U.S. government.
