Dan Poblocki

Dan Poblocki is an American author of mystery, horror, and adventure novels for young readers, including Tales to Keep You Up at Night. He has written numerous acclaimed middle-grade horror titles such as The Stone Child, The Nightmarys, The Ghost of Graylock, The Haunting of Gabriel Ashe, The Book of Bad Things, the Mysterious Four series, and the Shadow House series. He is also the co-author, under the pen name Alec Azam, of the #1 New York Times bestselling series The Magic Misfits with Neil Patrick Harris.

Poblocki was born in Providence, Rhode Island and spent his pre-teen years in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in theater and later toured the United States performing in roles such as Ichabod Crane in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. His books The Ghost of Graylock and The Haunting of Gabriel Ashe have been recognized as Junior Library Guild selections and appeared on the American Library Association’s Best Fiction for Young Adults list, and his work has been translated into multiple languages, including French, Spanish, Greek, Russian, German, Polish, Italian, Czech, and Farsi.
