Darryl Williams
Darryl Williams is an education leader and co-author of Reconnect: Building School Culture for Meaning, Purpose, and Belonging, written with Doug Lemov, Hilary Lewis, and Denarius Frazier. He is the CEO of the Teach Like a Champion team, having taken over leadership of the group in July 2022 after being one of the original classroom practitioners studied in the development of Teach Like a Champion.
Before joining Teach Like a Champion, Williams served as Chief Officer, Office of School Leadership for Houston Independent School District, and previously worked as a Regional Superintendent with the Achievement First network, as well as a principal and teacher in Albany, New York. In addition to his school leadership career, he is noted for choosing to pursue his passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu rather than a professional basketball opportunity during the NBA Development League’s inaugural draft in 2001.
