Daryl Michel, Ph.D., is an instructional coach, consultant, and founder of Be A Change, LLC, where he focuses on supporting educators through evidence-based coaching and professional learning. He has more than three decades of experience as an instructional coach and trainer, working with schools and systems to build collaborative structures that improve teaching and student outcomes.
Michel is the coauthor of Student-Focused Coaching: The Instructional Coach’s Guide to Supporting Student Success Through Teacher Collaboration (Brookes Publishing, 2022), written with Jan Hasbrouck. In this work, he helps articulate the Student-Focused Coaching (SFC) model, providing step-by-step guidance for instructional coaches in K–12 settings and detailing coaching roles such as Facilitator, Collaborative Problem-Solver, and Teacher/Learner. He frequently presents webinars and professional learning sessions on SFC, instructional leadership, and the science of reading.
