David Buckingham

David Buckingham is a British scholar, writer, and consultant specializing in children and young people, media, education, and media literacy. He is Emeritus Professor of Media and Communications at Loughborough University and an Honorary Professor at the UCL Institute of Education. Previously, he was a Professor of Education at the Institute of Education, University College London, where he founded and directed the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media.

Buckingham is the author, co-author, or editor of numerous books, including Children Talking Television (1993), After the Death of Childhood (2000), Media Education (2003), Beyond Technology (2007), Youth, Identity, and Digital Media (2008), The Material Child (2011), and The Media Education Manifesto (2019).
