David Ellemor-Collins

David Ellemor-Collins is a mathematics educator and researcher specialising in arithmetic instruction and numeracy intervention. He holds a Bachelor’s degree with honours in mathematics and philosophy from Harvard University and a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Melbourne. He has worked as a mathematics teacher for around 20 years across primary schools, high schools and universities, and has served as a research officer at Southern Cross University in Australia, focusing on the design of pedagogical tools for intervention in learning arithmetic.

Ellemor-Collins is a co-author in the Mathematics Recovery / Math Recovery series, including Developing Number Knowledge: Assessment, Teaching and Intervention with 7–11 year olds and The Learning Framework in Number: Pedagogical Tools for Assessment and Instruction. He is also a co-author of On Track to Numeracy: A Framework and Tools for Guiding Classroom Number Learning in the Math Recovery series, alongside Lucinda MacCarty and Kurt Kinsey. His research publications address topics such as conceptual place value, multi-dimensional instructional frameworks, and mathematisation in arithmetic learning.
