David LaRochelle
David LaRochelle is an American author and illustrator who has been creating books for young readers since 1988. A former elementary school teacher, he has written or illustrated more than thirty children’s titles, ranging from picture books and puzzle books to a young adult novel. His work has received numerous honors, including the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award, the Sid Fleischman Humor Award, the SCBWI Golden Kite Honor Award, and multiple Minnesota Book Awards.
LaRochelle is the author of See the Dog: Three Stories About a Cat, illustrated by Mike Wohnoutka and published by Candlewick Press in 2021. Among his other notable books are Moo!, How Martha Saved Her Parents from Green Beans, It’s a Tiger!, Isle of You, How to Apologize, See the Cat: Three Stories About a Dog, The End, and 1+1: And Other Unlikely Additions. He lives in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where he continues to write, illustrate, and visit schools to talk with students about books and storytelling.
